Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a heterogeneous complex and multifaceted disorder which affects approximately 4-18% of the women of reproductive age. It is mainly associated with psychological, metabolic and reproductive dysfunctions like menstrual disturbances, excess androgens, obesity and mood swings. As per the FASEB Journal when the rats were induced with obesity then the environment factors affected the gene expressions. Hence mice behavior was affected due to dysregulation in the amygdala and hypothalamus of the brain. Therefore the anxiety predominated in the study which is always seen in a woman suffering from PCOS.
