Infertility has been the most talked issue when it comes to discussing couples or marriage relationships. But moving on to the discussion let’s know a little about what is infertility? It is often termed as a disease of the reproductive system which considered to be obtained as a failure in the term of achieving a clinical pregnancy. In simple language, infertility is a state of not being pregnant. And, this inability can be found both in male and female.

Infertility Treatment- Males and Females

Infertility treatments are the solutions to overcome or treat the disease. With various scientific inventions and biologically successful researchers, infertility treatment has evolved to stop and cure sexual diseases. Because of 50% of the success rate of treatment, infertility treatment performs diagnosis in the initial stage.

Female infertility treatment majorly involves- In Vito fertilization, assisted reproductive technology, egg donation or even surrogacy. Most common infertility treatments involve:

  • Testing hormones and curing any imbalance or short menstrual cycle

  • Medications to invigorate ovulation

  • Fertility enhancement supplements

  • Antibiotics to cure infections

  • Surgery for fallopian tube disorders, uterus or remove a blockage in the pelvic area.

Male infertility treatment is often done the conventional way:

  • Medications to increase sperm count

  • Prescribing antibiotics for healing infections

  • Avoiding hot water bath

  • Wearing loose undergarments to protect fungal infections

The male infertility treatment also follows the treatment to test- the volume of semen, sperm count and even motility of sperm cells.

Causes of infertility in females?

Usually, a reproductive system is considered to be the most sensitive part where many cases ultimately result in infertility. According to various available cases and studies, causes of female infertility can be:

  1. Aging: This can be considered as one of the most common causes of infertility. The percentage of conceiving starts declining between the ages of 32 to 34.

  2. Fallopian tube diseases: The other reason behind infertility in females can also be the ovulation problem. The fallopian tube is a path to carry eggs from the ovary to the uterus. The disease can be in form of infections, hydrosalpinges, endometriosis or tubal ligation.

  3. Dysfunction of ovulation: Any sort of fluctuations in ovulation process can also result in fertility. Facing premature ovarian failure, hypothalamic amenorrhea, polycystic ovarian syndrome, etc. can also result in infertility.

  4. Pelvic union dysfunction: Adhesions on the ovaries can also result in the implantation. Due to surgical procedures or infections, a thin lubricating layer can enclose the organs, which cause scar tissue adhesions.

How to diagnose infertility?

Both male and female suffer from infertility symptoms, but female infertility is the majorly hyped. Infertility diagnoses majorly involve- blood tests, laparoscopy and Hysterosalpingography (HSG).

  • For male infertility treatment, diagnose is made on the most general cause- sperm. Sperm cells are either produced in a few number or none. They can also be shoddy or even die before reaching the egg.

  • Female infertility treatment diagnosis is done to study ovulation disorder. Other secondary reasons can be because of adhesions or blocked fallopian tubes.

Evaluations can be in form of:

  1. Medical history of the patient

  2. Semen analysis

  3. Clinical testing
